Our Self Directed IRA uses a special IRA owned LLC that fully meets the IRS codes. The accountholder will direct our IRA custodian to invest into a limited liability company that he manages himself. Then the funds in your IRA account are transferred to your IRA LLC bank account. This gives you the ability to make investment decisions without having to seek approval from any custodian and has the benefit of reducing fees and delays. You may have heard this structure as referred to having "checkbook control" because the IRA accountholder can sign for the LLC and its banks accounts. In our Self-Directed IRA, the IRA holder is the person that serves as manager of the LLC.
